Event Details


The Leeds Flower Show Organised by Leeds Horticultural Society has been held in the City for almost 150yrs and this year we return again to The Grammar School at Leeds, on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August.


Public Admission To The Show

Saturday 6th – Open 11am. Last Admission 4.30pm. Close 5pm.

Sunday 7th – Open 8.30am. Last Admission 4.30pm. Close 5pm.

Admission Prices

Public – £5.00

Senior Citizen – £4.00

Children under 16 years – £1.00

Members of Leeds Horticultural Society (with Membership Card) – Free


The Classes


There are over 300 competitive classes and entries are invited for Flowers, Pot Plants, Vegetables, Fruit, Wine, Honey & Mead, Art, Photography and Craft work Children’s classes include drawing, handwriting, an edible monster and a scarecrow competition.

The domestic class is always strongly supported and we welcome entries for home made cakes, bread, scones and biscuits etc.

Details


The West Yorkshire Fuchsia Society and the Rose Society’s annual Shows are incorporated and as always put on a breathtaking display. Experts are there on hand to answer any questions.

On Sunday morning Joe Maiden and Tim Crowther will be broadcasting live the ever popular the Radio Leeds ‘Weekend in the Garden’.

Speakers throughout the 2 days include topically Martin Walker from Leeds City Council  with an illustrated talk about Leeds entry at the Chelsea Flower Show which won Gold last year with the ‘Lock Gates Garden’ and again this year with ‘The Water Wheel’.

Hilary Dodson from The Northern Fruit Society will talk on ‘Growing Fruit’. Anastasia, a Local Florist at Chapel Allerton and a Chelsea Silver-Gilt winner will give a demonstration on Floral Art.

Traders both inside and out will include nurseries, specialist growers including chillis and tomatoes, garden accessories and tools, photography, paintings and prints, greetings cards and gifts and the Ice cream man to cool you down. Applications for trade stands are still welcome.

Later, relax & enjoy the refreshments ranging from coffees to cooked breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas on both days – high quality at reasonable prices.

Saturday Afternoon – The James Farrell Concert Band.

Sunday Afternoon – The York R.I. Golden Rail Band.

Special Bus Service FS1 : Geldards Buses running both days from Infirmary Street, City Square on the hour with return journeys to the City Centre.
